Britons are increasingly confident about their personal finance situations, it has been revealed.

Research carried out by GfK NOP on behalf of the European Commission identifies marginal rises in confidence for the coming year.

However, the analyst identifies a reluctance to make any major purchases in the run-up to Christmas.

For those households concerned about spending money ahead of the festive season, secured loans could be a structured means of acquiring funds.

And meeting repayments on such lending could become easier if the predictions become a reality.

Rachael Joy of the Gfk NOP consumer confidence team comments: "People's forecast for their personal and general economic situation over the next 12 months has seen small increases."

She notes that this indicates "a more positive outlook for the future".

The British Insurance Brokers Association recently advised consumers that items bought in the run-up to Christmas may already be covered by home insurance policies.ADNFCR-1287-ID-18337526-ADNFCR
