Britons are taking on board messages given to them regarding the importance of financial responsibility, it has been claimed.

Liverpool Victoria reports that the government is acting to educate consumers regarding their finances, while there is continued information in the media relating to pensions and the need for young people to save money.

Spokesperson for the financial services provider Lucy Pope said: "A lot of the messages out there about making sure you save for the future and your retirement and about paying off your expensive debt and that type of thing are coming through."

She added that information on matters in this field, which could include debt consolidation loans and other methods of paying off debts, is impossible to avoid.

A recent YouGov survey found that young professionals are twice as concerned with their retirement and increasingly interested in matters relating to debt when compared to their yuppie equivalents from the 1980s.ADNFCR-1287-ID-18360932-ADNFCR
