British holidaymakers taking all-inclusive vacations want value for money when going abroad, according to Travelsupermarket.com.

Bob Atkinson, a travel expert for the site, said that many Brits do not leave their hotels during all-inclusive holidays, as they want to get as much value for money out their package deals.

He noted: "If you have got a large amount of people taking all-inclusive holidays, a lot of them will not go anywhere because they want to get their full money's worth. It is a very British attitude."

Research by Halifax building society backs up this claim as it found that millions of Britons holidaying abroad do not leave the "bubble" of their resort.

It claims that UK holidaymakers spend less than seven hours away from their resort while on holiday.

A report published last August by the price comparison website MoneyExpert.com has found that up to 8.3 million Britons are taking out secured loans to fund their holiday getaways.
